Parent Testimonial

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the peace of mind that you have given both me and my husband. We had visited many daycare providers before Phoenix Children's Academy was recommended to us. From the moment that we walked in the door we knew we were in the right place. The site was bright, open and welcoming. We were encouraged to get to know the teachers and all my many questions were answered without judgment (you were even supportive of my many phone calls the first week just to check in). In the 4 years at Phoenix Children's Academy we have never questioned our decision to place Joshua and two years later Kennedy in your care. It makes my husband and me happy to see how much our children love their teachers and their friends that they have made. Picking them up is the best part on my day as they excitedly give me a rundown of their day, what they learned, who they played with, what they had for lunch, etc. Now as Joshua prepares for Kindergarten I am even more grateful for the open communication from the teachers and staff about his progress and guidance about how we can help support him at home. I know that he will have a successful transition because of all the preparation and encouragement. Thank You for providing an environment for our children to thrive not only intellectually but also in their social/emotional development as well.

Creative Kaleidoscope of Learning Curriculum

Phoenix Children's Academy greatly values education and places a high priority on developing a well-rounded, hands-on curriculum that meets the needs of each individual child. Our Creative Kaleidoscope of Learning curriculum is based upon a monthly theme that incorporates Zoo-Phonics®, Math Their Way, Science, Literacy skills, Social Studies, Fine Motor Skills/Handwriting, Cooking, Music and Movement Activities, and Art activities. A daily schedule is followed and includes our exclusive Fun With Fitness program balanced with small and large group instruction throughout the day.

We strongly believe that art is a process, not a product. Children are exposed to art in all different types of medium and are encouraged to express themselves through their work as well as through Music, Movement and Drama. Circle Time is a great opportunity for the children to share their interests, treasures and special talents.

Phoenix Children's Academy recognizes the importance of building self-esteem at a very young age. We encourage a positive sense of self by using praise, encouraging independence and building on their skills. Beginning at the current skill level, we offer the children new challenges in which they can be successful. Our Character Building curriculum supports positive interactions and important social skills such as honesty, courage and responsibility.  Manners are also encouraged in the classroom throughout the day. Children are nurtured in a warm and caring environment.

Our multi-cultural program is a key component of our curriculum. Studying other countries and cultures is a part of our monthly curriculum. Pictures, posters and books are displayed throughout the classrooms. Circle time discussions are enhanced with hands-on art, games and cooking activities. Children participate in weekly Spanish language classes, with Spanish integrated throughout the day.

Science is taught throughout the week, both inside and outside the classroom.  We encourage the children to become aware of the world around them, how things work, and to develop critical thinking skills. Children are challenged to analyze and evaluate interactive experiments in the classroom, fostering a love of science and nature.
